“Astronomy Day” at the UT-A Planetarium!
Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012: NSS-NT and the Moon Society are among the organizations featured at the University of Texas at Arlington (UT-A) Planetarium’s Astronomy Day, (http://www.uta.edu/planetarium/) from 4:30 to 10:00 p.m. (new times). Ken Murphy, who is the Moon Society President and the NSS-NT VP, and Ken Ruffin, the NSS-NT President, are giving free presentations in the Planetarium. NSS-NT also has a table display with pamphlets, brochures, the award-winning AdAstra Magazines, a Space Toy Play Area, and more.
Come to Astronomy Day, and see and hear the latest and greatest information in space travel and space development from the Moon Society and NSS-NT!
The Astronomy Day schedule is as follows:
- 5:00 – Experience the Aurora*
- 6:00 – Moon U. – Ken Murphy, President of the Moon Society, talks about the Moon
- 6:30 – Companies in Space – Ken Ruffin, President of NSS of North Texas, talks about the commercial space industry
- 7:00 – Texas Stargazing*
- 8:00 – Moon U. – Ken Murphy, President of the Moon Society, talks about the Moon
- 8:30 – NASA’s Gigantic New Rockets – Ken Ruffin, President of NSS of North Texas, talks about NASA’s new Space Launch System
- 9:00 – We Are Astronomers*
- 9:30 – Pink Floyd*
